Sad and speechless.

Thank you Ruth, Jasmine, and Zoe for sharing this wonderful man and spirit with us. The comments on this blog say it all.

His time away from his beloved family was time spent sharing and generating his indomitable spirit, fight, charm, and goodwill. The world's a better place for him. Please know that.

As I sit at my computer finalising the Oz Day 10K start grid, I can't believe we wont see the "little indian" here again.
We know however, that he will be on that start line next Tuesday, with so many of us - in our hearts, in our heads; as a mentor, a coach a great competitor and one of our best friends. All of us that raced with him, knew him, and called Clay friend are richer and better for sharing his life.

Clay, you'll be truly missed, but never forgotten.

Ruth, Jasmine & Zoe, I'm sitting here remembering sitting around the campfire at the Lake and all the fun, smiles and laughter there was and how it will be a bit sadder without Claytons wit . We are going to miss him more than you know. The Lake is still there and Ruth , if you need to get away from things this summer, our site is there and so are we.Feel free to come any time you want. Our heart and thoughts are with you and the girls.

We just heard this tragic news, Clayton was always a possitive mentor to me it didn't matter what obstacle I came across Clayton always had an upbeat answer to with a smile and a story relating how he overcame things or others he knew overcame them, nothing was ever a problem for him. doug would always say Clayton would do it why can't you.
However his stories always turned to his girls and how proud he was of them and Ruth. Somehow keep your heads up and know Clayton will always be proud of your accomplishments just has you guys are of his. I will always remember him sitting out on our deck this fall laughing and telling me I will recover from my latest accident and being so encouraging . He will be greatly missed.
