Dearest Clayton
I can't stop crying. Thank you so much for joining us in Oita Marathon for
23 years. It was in 1987 that I met you at Oita Airport for the first time.
Since then I had a really enjoyable time with you. Thank you for
everything.I'll miss you a lot, I'll never forget you, I love you forever.
May your soul rest in peace !!

Ruth, Jasmine Zoe, and everyone,

I am so sorry to hear the news. Clayton was a great competitor and person. It was a very special time in my life when traveling and racing with him and all of you. He brought a high level of intensity to our sport and could be counted on to make it fun. I will always remember the head down, hands and elbows flyin, pushing hard and never letting up , the smile and laugh.

Dear Ruth, Jasmine and Zoe, we are very sorry to hear of Clay's passing. He was a great friend and we always enjoyed hooking up with him on the racing scene. We always shared the craic, enjoyed his good humour and admired his determination. We will treasure our memories of him! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time, Ger and Trice XXX

Clayton was one of the faces of wheelchairsports. For many years in racing he provided challenges for me that helped me grow as an athlete and as a person. I enjoyed spending time with him. We still did training session before races with each other even after I switched from wheelchair racing to handcycling.
I will miss you, Clayton.

This is a very sad day!
Even though we didn't speak that often I considered Clay as a close friend. Clay was one of those persons who made it fun to travel around competing. He made me laugh many times.
My thoughts are with Ruth, Jasmine and Zoe.

So upset to hear the very sad news. We knew Clayton for 15 years and looked forward to seeing him and Rick each Oz Day. He was a man with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humour, a great athlete and most of all a top bloke. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ruth and their children

Too Ruth and the Gerein family

It was with great sadness I this morning received the notice that Clayton has fought his last battle. He will always be in my mind as great a sportsman and a good friend. We met all over the world and had always good competitions and good laughs. Even if it was some time since we met my memories are sharp and will never fade. Our condolences go to you Ruth and your family.

So sorry to hear this news.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Clayton was a true gem - I'll never forget him drinking two beers at the same time!

I am so sorry to hear that we won't get a chance to see your mischievous grin again, Clay. I will miss your stories of your worldly adventures. Thank you for being someone I could look up to. My warmest thoughts to the entire Guerin family. We are all so lucky to have known Clayton.
